How do I get started selling real estate in PA?

Simply enroll in our PA Real Estate Sales Licensing Package. The package includes the 2 required courses- Real Estate Fundamentals and Real Estate Practices. These courses can be taken in any order and are offered at our Northeast Philadelphia location on a monthly basis.  If you later decide you want the NJ license, you can take our 15 Hour Supplemental Course to become eligible to sit for the NJ State Exam at that time.

We truly believe our program & instructors give you the best possible start in the real estate business, hands down.  But don’t take our word for it.  You are welcome to “Audit” 1 class session, anytime, FREE of charge, to hear our instructors in action

Classes are held at the beautiful American Heritage Federal Credit Union, 2068 Red Lion Road in Northeast Philadelphia. (Ample free parking!)

  • Our Northeast Philadelphia Evening Program runs on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 6:15 PM to 10:00 PM for approximately 8 weeks. This 8 week program includes both the "30-Hour Fundamentals" course and the "30-Hour Practices" course wrapped into one competitively priced package.
  • Address: American Heritage Federal Credit Union, 2068 Red Lion Road, Philadelphia, PA 19115
  • All of our start dates are guaranteed to run – we NEVER cancel courses.

Anyone can take the course for information. The course material is invaluable for anyone who wants to make good decisions about buying, selling, renting or investing in real estate.  All are welcome!  However, if you are taking this course for the purpose of obtaining a license, you must meet the Eligibility Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School diploma is NOT required for PA Salesperson License
  • Criminal record check must be obtained from State Police
  • If you have a criminal record, the PA Real Estate Commission may decide on your ability to be licensed AFTER you have passed the licensing exam. The determination is made on a case-by-case basis.

Once you successfully complete your course, The Real Estate School will provide you with course transcripts so that you can apply to take the PA Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Exam.  You must submit your application to PSI, the state’s testing company, along with payment & both course transcripts. (First make a copy of transcripts for your records.) PSI will mail you an Examination Eligibility Notice to use for scheduling your exam.

To obtain the Pennsylvania license, you must pass the PA State Licensing Exam with a score of 75% or better, obtain your personal criminal background check from the Pennsylvania State Police, select a licensed PA brokerage company to work for and mail your Application for Licensure to the PA Real Estate Commission within 3 years of passing the PA State Exam.
